Anna Seva Trust Distributes 5,000 Meals During Flood Relief in Patna

By Sanatan Dharma Seva Trust

In a swift humanitarian response, SDST's Anna Seva Trust distributed over 5,000 freshly prepared meals to flood-affected families in Patna and neighboring districts of Bihar. The relief operation, mobilized within 24 hours of the floods, ran continuously for 10 days.

Besides meals, the team distributed clean drinking water, essential medicines, hygiene kits, and blankets to displaced families taking shelter in relief camps and community halls. A team of 50 volunteers worked in shifts to ensure uninterrupted service.

"When disaster strikes, it is Dharma that moves us to serve. We don't wait for instructions — seva is our instruction," said the coordinator of the relief operation.

The Anna Seva Trust, one of SDST's five operational wings, has been consistently serving meals to underprivileged communities, with over 12,400 meals distributed since the Trust's inception. The flood relief operation was funded entirely through public donations, with over 200 individual donors contributing within the first 48 hours.

SDST has committed to continued support in the flood-affected region, including plans for a follow-up health camp in partnership with the Arogya Seva Kendra.
